Democrats – Help Us Hand Out Sample Ballots – Prince William County, Virginia

Prince William County Democratic Committee
October 3, 2012

Greetings PWCDC members and friends!

It has been pointed out that in 2008, when Barack Obama won Virginia, almost 90,000 voters went to the polls and voted just for him, and not any of the down-ticket candidates.  We cannot let this happen in 2012; this same action could prove very costly to Tim Kaine, our Senate Candidate, and all the Congressional and local candidates.  Our president needs Democrats in office to help him reach his goals in the next four years.

With this in mind, the Democratic Committee has voted to hand out Democratic sample ballots to those voters who choose to vote Absentee in-Person at locations around the county.  The first of these to open are the DMV at Caton Hill Road, Woodbridge, and the Registrar’s Office in Manassas.  This is an easy job; you would be provided a supply of sample ballots.  Just bring a chair and offer a ballot to those who are coming to vote.

We have a proposition for you:  Would you be willing to commit to this project on a given shift from now until the election?  We are currently seeking folks to work the polls on election day; this is another easy opportunity to do your part to promote our Democratic Candidates before November 6th.  If you cannot commit to a regular shift, we still welcome your help, whatever you can give!

Zoe Vitter and Jane Touchet are assembling a roster of volunteers for both current sites.   To volunteer for a shift, sign up on-line here or contact Jane Touchet at janetouchet@verizon.net or 703-405-4120 or 703-494-2566 if you can help with this very important work!

Thank you for your continued support!

Harry Wiggins
Chair, PWCDC
