Independent Congressional Candidate Once Again Excluded
Gibson not invited to Prince William Chamber breakfast
FAIRFAX, VA – October 30, 2012
Billed as a “Halloween Treat” and an opportunity to “meet the major party candidates”, Prince William Chamber of Commerce is hosting an informal “Coffee with the Candidates” on October 31 at 8am that excludes the other four candidates for the 11th Congressional District seat including independent Mark Gibson.
“Just when my energy is getting a little low, this kind of deliberate exclusion really fires me up,” Gibson said. “I found out about the event late this afternoon. I won’t attend because I wasn’t invited and don’t want to cause any disruption. But as a member of the business community and a valid contestant in this race, I find that including only the major party candidates deprives voters of a fair evaluation of their choices on November 6.”
Gibson said that he attempted to introduce himself to Prince William Chamber staff through voicemail and email but those attempts were not returned.
The event can be viewed on the Chamber’s calendar.
